How long will it take for my website to be ready?
Depending on the complexity of the build, it will take 4-8 weeks. Typically, the biggest delay is the content (images, copy, etc.).
How much do I need to pay upfront?
I require 25% upfront. The other 75% will be billed in 3 payments during the build as we reach different project milestones, with the final payment due upon completion.
Are there any additional fees with having a website?
Yes.
Domain name: You will need to purchase your own domain name. Domain names typically cost about $15/year. See my recommended domain registrars here.
Website Hosting: You will have monthly or yearly hosting fees. The cost for this can vary a lot! See my recommended hosting providers here. Or check out my hosting & maintenance plan here.
Images: I highly recommend you get professional photos taken for your website. If this is not an option, you may purchase stock images.
Premium Features/Plugins: Occasionally I will recommend using a premium plugin that has a one-time or yearly fee. This is typically for larger sites with specialty features (membership sites, shops, etc.).
What do you need from me to get started on my site?
- Access to following accounts:
- Domain Registrar Account
- Hosting Account (for existing sites)
- Google Business Account (to set up Google Analytics)
- Website content (images, logo, copy, etc.)
- Completed business needs & branding worksheet (provided after the contract is signed)
We will go over how to share access to these assets and accounts at our kick-off meeting.
Do I need a Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions Policy?
Yes, most websites are required by law to have a Privacy Policy and a Terms & Conditions policy. I highly recommend you seek professional legal advice specific to your country for both policies. If you choose not to seek professional legal advice, I suggest checking out my recommended legal template sites.
I will set up a blank page for both policies and will add or embed each policy if you set it up and get it to me before the website build is finished.
Do I need a domain name?
Yes. You will need to purchase your own domain name. See my recommended domain providers here.
How many revisions do I get on the website design?
Included in all packages are 2 rounds of revisions. Because you approve the design before I get started and I keep you in the loop during the entire process, I’m confident we won’t need more than 2 revisions. However, if you’re not 100% happy with the result I will continue to refine at an hourly rate.
